The wishbone system incorporates three key components: longitudinal arm prevents wheel movement during braking, transverse arm maintains lateral position, and steering arm controls wheel direction.

The longitudinal arm requires careful washer tension – firm but finger-adjustable to prevent excess stress during turns. The transverse arm (standard M6 stainless steel) should remain straight; inspect for bending from impacts or potholes. Rod ends have 15-20 degrees movement range and must align properly.

Annual maintenance: remove zinc-plated rod ends, apply fresh vaseline to prevent corrosion, and reinstall. Check bearing carrier bolts – proper tension prevents steering drift.
