Day 6 | Hirtshals - Larvik | 11,2 KM
After a stormy night, we had plenty of time in the morning before our ferry departure at 12:45. We dawdled with everything a bit, like looking up velomobiles, cleaning the chain, checking the tyres for damage, waiting for the laundry to dry and then leisurely putting the tent away. At the nearby ferry dock, we passed the checkpoint and got in line. The passage through the Skagerrak to Norway takes about 3 hours. On board we spend the time doing the usual things like drinking coffee, eating, listening to audio books and people-watching.
The closer we get to Norway, the better the weather gets. In Larvik there is sunshine with a few clouds in the sky. We leave the ferry and take the short route directly to the campsite with its attached bathing beach. So it stays with a few kilometers today and we enjoy the beautiful weather by the sea.
