Finally sun again in the morning. Back to Norheimsund and then up the Steinsdals. From far away we could already see the Steinsdalsfossen plummeting down the mountain. Many visitors were walking around and we were in the middle of it. No sooner had we parked our velomobiles than the first people came and asked: Is this solar-powered? How big is the range with solar? Do you have to pedal? And so on and so forth ... at first we talked intensively in English with a German, until we realised that we were all from Germany. After the waterfall, we climbed up to 500 m. If you want to go overland from one fjord to the next, you usually have to cross a mountain range. In this case we drove from the Hardangerfjord to the Bjornafjord. Through several tunnels with 6-9 % gradients. That is more exhausting for me than the same stretch without tunnels. At least in my head I have the thought, I don't want to stop now.
The traffic was moderate, so I could ride in peace. When a convoy of a few vehicles came along, it was quiet again. Everyone drove relaxed and carefully. Sometimes we had to ask people to overtake us. Then finally up. Now down for longer. At a bakery above Tysse we stopped for a coffee and a cinnamon bun. Once around the end of the fjord to Samnanger. Now, despite the cinnamon bun, we were so hungry that we had to take a lunch break. A good slice of Jarlsberg cheese and reindeer sausage with Norwegian bread. Then over a mountain again to get to the next fjord at Trengereid. From there we followed the old E18, which runs parallel to the new one. It was very quiet to drive. There were only a few short and sharp climbs now and then. 15 km before Bergen, we pulled into a campsite.
