I started as a traditional bicycle commuter, but once I began thinking seriously about aerodynamics, everything changed. A short‑wheelbase recumbent opened my eyes to what improved aerodynamics could do, and when I stumbled across velomobiles, I knew I’d found something extraordinary. Since then, I’ve owned three different models and used them not just for fun, but as a practical, everyday commuter vehicle.
The Story so far
When our third child got her driver’s license, I handed her my car and bought a Quest velomobile instead. It became my primary commuter—comfortable, weather‑protected, fast enough to ride with traffic at times, and roomy enough to carry everything I needed. The aerodynamic efficiency is addictive, the ride incredibly smooth, and the sense of freedom unmatched – hard to describe with just words until you’ve experienced it for yourself!
