Hi, it's Jan from Velomobile World and today I make a bit of a different video.
So lately... as you can see I'm behind the computer and I just got another email from a client of ours. Someone is trying to scam our clients, so they send emails that we want to purchase machines in China or in other country and that I like to discuss it with you in order you can be part of this investment blah blah blah. It's a scam, it's not me, I don't ask you for money, only if you ordered a bike (velomobile).
So, don't react to these emails, I'm really sorry this happens, I cannot change that somebody is trying to write in our name. Sometimes they even manage to look like it's our email, it's not (just look closely), we're not asking you for money besides... yeah, besides if you ordered a bike or parts and also we'll make an article, to see which is our IBAN number, in case you get weird emails and there's a weird IBAN number.
Look carefully at this detail
When you get an email from us, find "From" field. When you get a scam email, in most cases, you will see here "Velomobile World" , "Jan", "[email protected]" or something similar, IF YOU JUST READ IT. When someone creates a fake email address they can give any name for it. But this area also reveals an important detail... go with the mouse over the name (don't click) and a hover will appear, where you will see the real email (like in the picture). On mobile, in most cases there is a small arrow that you tap on and you will see the real email address. Here you will look for the domain of that email, for example our emails are "[email protected]" or "[email protected]". You can see that after the "@" sign is our website name WITH ".com" extension, not other extension. If you get a scam email, the structure will be different, you won't find our website name, it can be something like "[email protected]", "[email protected]" or maybe they can purchase a domain with similar name as ours. Just take a look on the final part of that email, that should contain "@velomobileworld.com" when you hover over the name, beside "From".
