There are 2 options for brakes, the 70 mm and the 90 mm.

If we put a 70 mm drum brake and the brake plate, then we compare this with the 90mm, we can see a difference of 460 grams. This is the disadvantage of the 90mm drum brakes, they are heavier.

The advantages of the 90 mm drum brakes are the following:

1) They can better absorb heat when you have longer downhills to do. We just saw on the scale that the 70 mm drums are lighter. The 90 mm have more material to heat and have more surface to get rid of the head. This mean you can brake longer without having the danger of overheating.

2) Because the 90 mm drum brakes can get better rid of the heat the have also less fast oval

Conclusion: You live in a flat area and occasional you see some hills then a 70 drum brake would be enough but you have faster change that the drum brakes get faster oval.

You life in a area where you go often up an down some hills mountains 90 mm is the best choose in this case

Alex Rims

This rim is the most versatile rim that we offer for the Bülk velomobile. The rim is relatively light at 300 grams and durable. Of course, you can manage to break a rim if you drive through a pothole and you tire pressure is a bit low. Also if you have a flat tire which mostly happens when it is wet and cold, when there are big chances to loose the power in your hands/fingers if they become really cold, then to get a tire off from Alex Rims is much easier.

Fratelli Rims

Based on extensive testing:

• Alex Rims + Schwalbe PRO ONE: This combination has proven reliable and continues to be our recommended configuration

• Fratelli Rims + Schwalbe PRO ONE: This combination is not recommended for use, even though it’s very light and very fast but if you have a flat tyre it’s not always working to fit the tyre on the rim.

Mirrors

Mirror 1 the B&M Cycle Star features a ball joint that allows for easy rotation and positioning. The surface of the B&M mirror is bigger as the Zefal mirror and is made of real glass, this makes the rear view crystal clear.

Disadvantage

The B&M mirror is bigger and creates more drag/resistance than the Zefal mirror. We have to mention also the aesthetic, the Zefal mirror is nicer.

Mirror no 2 the Zefal mirror provides excellent rear visibility, allowing you to clearly see traffic behind you. Its wide field of view ensures you have a comprehensive perspective of your surroundings. The Zefal mirror is smaller which creates less drag and has better aesthetic than the B&M mirror.

Disadvantages

The Zefal mirror is not made from glass but from another material, the view is great, but not as crystal clear as the B&M mirror.

Mirror no 3 the B&M Cycle Star with a carbon fiber painted cone – integrated design that complements the velomobile – and it is fixed, does not have the ball joint feature.

Mirror no 4 the 3D printed Mirror cone – one of its standout features is the 360-degree rotation, enabling you to adjust the mirror to any angle for the best possible rear view.

Hood

The velomobile hood is one of the most practical features in the velomobile – the hood allows you to travel with the velomobile in any season and in any weather conditions. The hood offers protection from the elements, and it has an aerodynamic design.

We have two types of hoods:
1. Racehood with motoradvisor medium knee bumps (M) – recommended for riders with height up to 170 cm

2. Racehood with motoradvisor high knee bumps (L) –  recommended for rider with height from 175 cm

Combilids

The combilid has a foam attachment that is useful for wind, and cold protection. When is warm outside the foam part can also be removed.

We have two types of Combilids:

1. Combilid with medium knee bumps (M) – good for rider with a height up to 170 cm
2. Combilid with high knee bumps (L) –  good for rider with a height from 175 cm

The hole in the lid acts as a window, allowing you to see what’s happening in front of you when you open the hood.

Shoulder bolsters are two foam pads positioned on either side of your shoulders inside the velomobile. While cycling, your upper body tends to shift slightly from side to side, which can unintentionally affect your steering. This can lead to instability and make you feel less secure inside the velomobile.

Shoulder bolsters help prevent this by keeping your upper body more firmly in place, providing a snug and stable fit that improves both control and comfort.

The elbow rest is an option that provides comfort for long rides. As the name already says, it’s an elbow rest or an armrest. It’s a foam made support attached with Velcro to the inside of the velomobile.

We offer the standard option without the Ventisit, as some drivers prefer to drive without it to save weight. However, it’s important to note that the carbon fiber seat can be quite firm, which might lead to discomfort after longer rides. The main benefit of the Ventisit is that it provides ventilation between your back and the seat, enhancing comfort during your ride.

If you’re a larger person and the Bülk barely fits you, the Ventisit can make a significant difference, helping you fit comfortably inside. If you’re unsure whether you need a Ventisit when selecting options for your new velomobile, don’t worry – you can always order one later from the Ventisit Store.

Headrest

Options:

1. Small: For people from 145-160 cm

2. Medium: For people from 160-180 cm

3. Standard: For people taller than 180 cm

You can choose to have a rear air suspension with damping on your velomobile.
