Why Choose Bülk Race?

Advantages

Aerodynamic Excellence

The aerodynamic design has been optimized through CFD simulation under the direction of Prof. Dr. h.c.-Ing. Eric Helter, a specialist in aerodynamics and bionics. His expertise, developed through work with Porsche Manthey GT3, KTM, and Lamborghini racing.

Advanced Safety Features

Carbon fiber reinforced with Innegra offers enhanced crash protection. Combined with a strong Y-frame structure and advanced lighting system, it ensures maximum safety and visibility on the road.

All-Weather Protection

Advanced weather protection with optional hoods, ventilation, windscreen wiper, and wind shielding. In winter, the hood is recommended to retain body heat. In summer, choose between hood or combi-lid. Removable Velcro windows and NACA duct airflow provide effective cooling.

Race-Proven Performance

Developed from decades of racing experience and wind tunnel testing, offering unmatched efficiency for both speed and range.

Limited access for maintenance

You can choose whether to include a front cover or not. Limiting access for maintenance increases structural stiffness and improves the aerodynamic shape of the body.

Stefan Hegger

15% Faster Than My MK1 - A True Racing Machine

Stefan Hegger has a lot of experience with velomobiles. He even completed a long-distance tour around Germany with his Bülk MK1, so he knows what a good velomobile should feel like.

During testing on a 23 km track, Stefan discovered just how much more efficient the Bülk Race  is. He was able to maintain 54.6 km/h with just 178 watts, compared to 205 watts needed on the MK1 to reach the same speed. That’s about 15% less energy , a huge difference, especially for endurance rides.

This increased efficiency helped him break the 6-hour velomobile world record (60+ category) at Aldenhoven, riding 318.93 km at an average of 53.35 km/h, even with a flat tire and a mid-race bike change. He estimates that without the flat, he could’ve reached 345 km.

The Race isn’t just faster: it’s lighter, stiffer, and more aerodynamic. For someone like Stefan, who’s ridden thousands of kilometers in all conditions, this machine stands out clearly.

“It’s the most efficient velomobile I’ve ever ridden.”

Frequently asked questions

« Oops, what was that? An electric car? Was that solar? Does this have a motor or why is it so fast? » We hear these questions often when people first encounter the Bülk MK1. With over 100 years of velomobile history behind it, and groundbreaking modern engineering within it, the Bülk MK1 tends to turn heads. Here are answers to the questions we most frequently receive about this revolutionary vehicle.

“ “My riding companions have noticed increased average speeds since switching to the M9. The combination of aerodynamic efficiency, drivetrain stiffness, and overall design makes it faster than my previous velomobiles. The large cockpit opening provides good airflow, and the integrated mirrors work perfectly when properly positioned. The build qualit ”
