I have been working in IT since 2014, more precisely in e-commerce. With a somewhat original curriculum: I did my master’s degree in chemistry, and discovered IT in the working world in 1995.
Some of my hobbies and occupations: I practice diving, I’m an instructor, and have great memories of Malaysia, Egypt, France… I am also a magician, have a look at my site IMAGINONS LA MAGIE on occasion! I love cooking (I actually worked in a restaurant to finance my studies), I love nature, DIY: two essential things for having fun with a velomobile!
I currently own an Olympia F1 mountain bike, which allows me to ride off-road, and go to work through the fields. It is a relatively recent acquisition, and thanks to it, I realized that going to work only takes me half an hour more!!!! why deprive yourself of 1h30 of sport per trip, in the middle of the country side and forest?
ABOUT MY BICYCLE/VELOMOBILE
When the bad weather is coming, mountain biking in the rain is less fun, and I winterize the beast to wake up another beast. As you will have understood, a velomobile in gloomy weather is a great solution to continue my “home-work-home” journey, but this time by road. It only takes me an hour, exactly the same time as by car!!! it’s true, traffic jams help a bit!
My first motivation is to keep moving (remember, IT is quite a static job!), and the second, to keep my promise that I made to myself 30 years ago: “if this damn petrol goes over 10 francs, I’ll stop the car”, yes we were buying stuff in francs at the time! And so it is today…
My model? the BÜLK MK1. I’m looking forward to it! So far I have been able to test a WAW and became addicted! I documented myself well, and learned a lot during the configuration of the BÜLK MK1.
Why would anyone ride a velomobile? big question! I like to be active. Driving by car is, for me, a waste of time, it’s too boring, the traffic in our region remains quite dense and stressful. I also don’t have a lot of free time in my busy work day to exercise. Planning at the end of the day or at the weekend is practically impossible when you have two girls and a house!!! I have found cycling to be a great way to combine my desire to exercise, reduce the stress of traffic, while getting to my destination in a reasonable amount of time. So I’m commuting 3 days a week for the moment, which corresponds to 2 times 27 km per day. I have an average of one hour per trip, with a nice cumulative drop of about 400m upon the hills. Basically it goes up … and then it goes down!
Another project of mine is to join my parents and parent in-laws in the center of France this summer: 1200km round trip. I plan to share this on the social medias!
If these few lines made you want to know more, if you want to test a model in the Sundgau (Haut Rhin), do not hesitate to CONTACT ME !
