Seat and headrest adjustment

Head Adaptor Setup and Adjustment Guide
Proper setup of the head adaptor system ensures optimal comfort and safety during rides. The system consists of multiple components working together to provide the right support for riders of different heights.
Seat Position and Center of Gravity
The seat position plays a crucial role in the velomobile’s stability. The front of the seat features slots for adjustment, and it’s recommended to position the seat as far forward as possible. This placement optimizes the center of gravity within the triangle formed by the wheel contact points, enhancing cornering stability.
Height Adjustment System
The rear seat height is adjustable using foam blocks with velcro attachments. The number of blocks used affects both comfort and practical considerations such as headlight visibility. When properly adjusted, riders should maintain 2-3 centimeters of clearance between their shoulders and the upper edge for freedom of movement. Height adjustment also impacts neck comfort, as incorrect positioning can cause forward head tilt and neck strain.
Head Adaptor Selection
Two adaptor sizes are available to accommodate different rider heights: The medium adaptor suits riders between 160-180cm, depending on back length. The small adaptor (which provides more forward adjustment) is designed for shorter riders. Installation requires gentle heating with a heat gun until the material becomes glossy, followed by careful alignment with the body.
Shoulder Support System
The shoulder support system includes polsters in various thicknesses from 1.5 to 3 centimeters. These supports should be adjusted to immobilize shoulder movement while allowing normal breathing. Proper shoulder support prevents unwanted steering input from body movement during riding.
Additional Adjustments
The steering cable position can be customized for optimal arm positioning, typically aiming for a 95-degree arm angle. The system includes ventilation options with an adjustable air inlet that can be opened for cooling or closed in cold conditions.
