Rear Suspension Maintenance

Rear Suspension Maintenance Guide

Regular maintenance of the rear suspension ensures optimal performance and ride comfort. The maintenance process involves inspection, adjustment, and potential customization of the suspension components.

Removal and Inspection

The rear suspension removal process begins with accessing two key fastening points. The first requires a 10mm wrench or socket tool to remove the lower nut and washer assembly. The second point is located at the top interior, requiring an Allen key for removal. Care should be taken to prevent dropping components during disassembly.

Spring System Overview

The rear suspension utilizes a dual-spring configuration with red and blue springs providing different compression characteristics. The red spring requires more force to compress compared to the blue spring. This design allows for suspension customization based on rider preference and usage conditions.

Suspension Customization

Riders can modify the suspension characteristics in several ways: For a softer ride, replace the red spring with a blue spring. For increased stiffness, additional red springs can be used. Standard spring sizes are used, allowing for local sourcing of replacement parts when needed. The website provides specific spring codes for ordering through official channels.

Maintenance Procedures

Regular inspection should focus on wear points and proper operation. If reduced damping is noticed due to decreased friction, a practical solution involves adjusting the internal diameter using appropriate tape layers. This temporary fix can be especially useful for riders distant from dealers or waiting for replacement parts.

Component Inspection

Check mounting points for wear or play, particularly in the primary pivot areas. If wear is detected in these areas, replacement parts can be ordered using codes available on the website. Ensure all contra-force connections remain properly tightened during reassembly.
